Living a healthy life is about more than just eating your 5-a-day. How do you store food safely? Where does your food come from? Do you understand food labels?

From farm to fork

Helping children to understand the answers to these sorts of questions seems like a tricky task but ASDA's website for kids is specially designed to educate children about all aspects of food, from where and how it's grown, to the best way to cook it - and everything in-between.

There's free information and interactive games covering all aspects of the curriculum which relate to food during Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. Kids can have fun while they develop the skills and knowledge to make healthy choices. And at the end of each topic there are downloadable tests to see how they're getting on.

The technology means that parents and kids can use the site at home, while teachers can use lesson plans from the site and link up to give tests during classes. Catherine Clark of the FSA said, "ASDA's website for kids is a fantastic resource for teachers and parents. It's a great, fun way for kids to learn important life skills".
